Senior Bridge Engineer - Consultancy Hybrid Manchester
Location: Manchester (Hybrid - 2-3 days in office)
Salary: 42,000- 52,000 + benefits
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

An ambitious, design-led civil and structural consultancy is looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join their growing team in Manchester. Working across public and private sector infrastructure, you'll lead and deliver bridge projects from concept to construction. This is a great chance to work in a close-knit, innovative environment where your ideas and leadership will directly shape projects and teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver bridge and civil structures design on a wide range of projects (footbridges, road, and rail).
  • Lead technical design, manage project delivery, and oversee junior engineers and technicians.
  • Produce and review structural calculations, drawings, BIM models, and specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders - act as CEM/CRE where required.
  • Ensure compliance with DMRB, Eurocodes, Network Rail and other relevant standards.
  • Contribute to proposals and project bids, and support business development.


Requirements

  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (e.g., CEng MICE, MIStructE) or fast approaching.
  • Strong experience (6+ years) in bridge engineering within a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Proficient in bridge design, assessment, and refurbishment.
  • Skilled in using analysis and modelling tools such as MIDAS, LUSAS, Revit, or similar.
  • Strong communicator, confident in leading teams and client interaction.
