Job description
Overview

Cardio Respiratory at the Queen's Hospital Burton is a busy diagnostic department within University Hospitals of Derby and Burton, comprising main sites at the Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton, plus community hospitals and three CDC hubs serving the community.

Responsibilities
  • Cardiology trained Senior Assistant Physiologist (band 4) with experience in:
  • Assisting in exercise tolerance testing, including myocardial perfusion testing
  • Head up tilt table testing, including active stand and autonomic function testing
  • 24/48 hour ambulatory ECG analysis and event recorder analysis
  • Routine non-invasive diagnostic procedures including ECG, ambulatory ECG and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
  • Editing MUSE (advantageous)
  • Support the pacing team in facilitating pacing transfers from other hospitals
  • Work with adults and paediatrics in a range of in- and outpatient settings performing non-invasive cardiac diagnostics and supporting Clinical Physiologists
  • Participation in analysis and training/assessment of staff in 12 lead ECG recording
  • Assist with administration duties within Cardiology services as required
  • Study and sit the Award in Electrocardiography within the first 6 months of appointment
  • 18 months or more experience as an Assistant Physiologist in Cardiology performing non-invasive diagnostics
Qualifications
  • Certificate in Electrocardiography
  • Minimum of 18 months experience working as an Assistant Physiologist in Cardiology performing a range of non-invasive diagnostics
Working Arrangements

This post will be based at Queens Hospital Burton; rotation to Royal Derby Hospital and CDCs will form part of the working week.

Administration and Development

You may be required to assist with administration duties within Cardiology services. Applicants will be expected to study and sit the Award in Electrocardiography within the first 6 months of appointment.
