Day-to-day of the role:
- Assume overall responsibility for client assignments, ensuring all deadlines and budgets are met.
- Deliver accounts to partners for discussion with clients, ensuring they are free of technical errors with only major queries outstanding.
- Manage multiple assignments with competing demands, taking responsibility for WIP control and billing.
- Assist in the day-to-day management of the team.
- Act as a major point of contact within the firm for client requests/needs, maintaining regular contact and keeping clients informed of progress.
- Write professional letters, reports, and other written submissions for review by partners.
- Lead and influence client meetings in the absence of partners when appropriate.
- Monitor and improve the team’s work to ensure consistently high standards.
- Contribute to new technical material and keep up to date with all technical developments to ensure continued excellent services.
- Work with partners to resolve technical problems and issues, identifying technical issues, researching, and suggesting solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent with 3 or more years’ post-qualification experience in an accountancy practice.
- Proven client relationship skills and broad accounts and tax knowledge with the ability to advise clients directly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and excellent knowledge of accounting packages such as IRIS, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.
- Experience in managing client assignments.
- Ability to drive, work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management skills, coping well under pressure, and ability to recover from setbacks quickly.
- Responds positively to constructive criticism and handles negative situations effectively.
