Job description
Overview

A supply SENDCO for the Prep School - starting asap until 5 October in the first instance.

We need someone to work 0.6/3 days per week ideally but there is a flexibility about how this is organised - e.g. 3 full days/half-days - and the actual days of the week can be flexible.

Ideally, we need someone with a SENDCO qualification and experience of working with primary age children, however if we can't find a qualified SENDCO we would consider a primary SEND teacher (or someone with significant primary SEND experience).

Responsibilities
  • The SENDCO will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the provision of effective and inclusive education for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • This will involve working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create supportive and stimulating learning environments.
Qualifications/Education
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification in SEND or special educational needs is required. A relevant teaching qualification is also essential.
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a SENDCO in a mainstream or special school setting.
Skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential. Experience with a range of SEND needs and assessment procedures is required. Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy is also necessary.
