A leading charity for individuals with disabilities is seeking a SEND Tutor to join their team in Brighton on a part-time, one-year fixed term basis. The successful candidate will assist young people with special educational needs, developing individual learning plans and enhancing communication and independence skills. Candidates should have a higher-level teaching qualification and an understanding of diverse learning needs. Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a higher-level teaching qualification.
  • English and Maths Level 2 certification is required.
  • Understanding of special education needs is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out initial and ongoing assessment of students.
  • Design and monitor Individual Learning Plans.
  • Deliver effective teaching that achieves high outcomes.

Skills

Understanding of the needs of young people with a range of special education needs

Effective communication inter-personally and in writing
Professional and positive behaviour for staff and students

Education

Higher level teaching qualification e.g. Certificate in Education or PGCE Level 5 Diploma
