Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the class teacher and SENCO.

SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp to perm starting ASAP

This is an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a school that provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND across secondary year groups
  • Assist teachers in implementing personalised learning plans
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting to the class teacher and SENCO
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Work flexibly across different year groups and adapt to varying needs
  • Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing practices across the school
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working with pupils with SEND, ideally in a secondary setting
  • Ability to work flexibly across different year groups and adapt to changing requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of strategies to support diverse learning needs
  • Committed to promoting inclusion and safeguarding children
