We are seeking a part‑time teacher to lead a specialist nurture provision at a warm, supportive school in Whitehawk, Brighton. This role offers Monday–Friday mornings only (17.5 hours per week), providing consistency and impact without long‑term commitment or after‑school obligations.

The Role

You will work with a small class of pupils with SEMH challenges, delivering targeted interventions to support their academic and social‑emotional development. Planning and resources are already provided, allowing you to focus on what you do best: teaching, building relationships, and boosting confidence.

You’ll be supported by a team of specialists including the SENCO, Mental Health Lead, and Senior Leaders, all focused on enhancing pupils’ self‑esteem, resilience, and sense of belonging.

Why You’ll Love This Role
  • Make a real, visible difference every day - help pupils with SEND gain confidence, access the curriculum and thrive socially and emotionally
  • Minimal prep, maximum impact - Lesson plans and resources are ready to go.
  • Work‑life balance - Finish at lunchtime, no evenings or weekend workload.
  • Professional growth - Access free CPD, including Autism Awareness, ADHD, Equality & Diversity, and more.
  • Supportive environment - A dedicated education consultant will provide guidance and feedback throughout your placement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the nurture provision, teaching from provided plans.
  • Deliver targeted interventions for pupils with SEMH challenges.
  • Manage behaviour, support communication, and develop social skills.
  • Work closely with the SENCO, Mental Health Lead, and SLT to monitor and support pupil progress.
Requirements
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and recent SEND/SEMH classroom experience.
Benefits & Location
  • Located in Whitehawk, Brighton, accessible by bus, with optional staff parking.
  • No staff meetings or parents’ evenings required.
  • Opportunity to work in a small, close‑knit Church of England school, graded “Good” by Ofsted in March 2025, with Outstanding for Personal Development.
About the School

This one‑form‑entry school is renowned for its warm, family feel and commitment to every child’s wellbeing. With a higher‑than‑average proportion of pupils requiring additional support, you will make a meaningful, visible difference in children’s lives every day.
