A local educational institution in Bristol is looking for a full-time SEND Learning Support Assistant to work 32.5 hours a week. Overview

SEND Learning Support Assistant – BG7 (TTO pro rata)
Contract: This is a temporary post until 31st August 2026.

Our Lady of the Rosary Primary School currently has a vacancy for a full-time LSA for 32.5 hours a week. The successful candidate will be timetabled to work both as a 1:1 support with SEND pupils and as a Class LSA across the primary range. Experience of the classroom environment, working with pupils with an ASC diagnosis, developmental delay and knowledge of Attention Autism and PECs would be desirable. Training and support will be provided as appropriate.

Contract and hours

The role is for 32.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm with a half an hour unpaid lunch break. Part of your role will also be a ½ hour lunchtime duty. The school will consider applications from people who would like to work part time. Please just state how many days you would be interested in working.

Responsibilities
  • Work as a 1:1 support with SEND pupils.
  • Work as a Class LSA across the primary range.
  • Support class teachers in differentiating a curriculum to support children’s needs.
  • Contribute to developing self-esteem in pupils and support approaches to build confidence.
  • Be patient, empathetic and nurturing, with the ability to think on your feet and be flexible.
  • Help with lunchtime duties (½ hour).
