Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assist in the delivery of lessons and activities, adapting materials and methods to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Support students in their personal, social, and emotional development to encourage positive behaviour and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Help monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to teachers on their development and areas of need.
  • Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Support the use of assistive technologies and other resources to enhance learning for students with SEN.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well‑being of all students.
Key Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting (desirable).
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs and promoting inclusive education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEN and a commitment to supporting their development.
  • A relevant qualification in supporting children or SEN (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, SEN qualification) is an advantage.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
