Employment: Long-term to permanent/Short term

Hours: Monday to Friday – 8am to 4pm.

Start Date: Immediate

GSL education are currently seeking a SEN Teacher to join our specialist SEMH/Autism provision in Wolverhampton. You will have the opportunity to use restorative practices to support our students in their social and emotional development, speech, language and communication difficulties and autism, children aged between 5 to 19 year old.

The school caters to children with:

  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health – (SEMH)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Speech communication and language needs (SLCN)
About the Role
  • Teaching a small class (8–11 pupils) with tailored learning plans.
  • Planning, designing, and delivering an innovative and engaging curriculum.
  • Providing PPA cover and supporting other staff where needed.
  • Working closely with colleagues to promote students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Tracking progress and supporting students with complex behavioural needs.
  • Ensuring students access the National Curriculum, focusing on English, Maths, and Science.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs, including mental health and behavioural challenges.
  • Passion for alternative education methodologies and a commitment to holistic student development.
  • Strong knowledge of Science teaching is desirable.
  • A proven track record of raising attainment and supporting challenging behaviour.
Additional Information
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • Subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check (we can assist with the application process).
