Who are we looking for

We’re looking for a passionate SEN Support Coach to support learners. You’ll provide 1:1 and small group interventions, support EHCP reviews, and help learners gain independence, confidence and positive outcomes. At our centre we aim to create an environment where learning is engaging and tailored to meet the needs of every learner.

Job Title: SEN Support Coach

Location: Ipswich

Working Hours: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, 1-hour lunch, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (Term Time only 38 plus 2 weeks). Some flexibility on these hours may be required.

Contract Type: Fixed Term contract until Jul 26 (this contract can be extended depending on the needs of the organisation)

Reports to: Centre Manager

Salary: 21,546 gross per annum (FT equivalent 24,570)

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to learners in both group and individual settings
  • Play an active role in classroom and physical activities alongside tutors
  • Gain on-the-job training with continued professional development (CPD)
  • Assist with lesson preparation, schemes of work, Individual Student Plans (ISPs) and Care Plans
  • Maintain knowledge of each learner’s stage of development, assessments and support needs
  • Support with educational visits and accompany learners when required
  • Follow and promote safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality and data protection policies
Qualifications
  • Qualified to PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) – Essential
  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above – Essential
  • L2 / L3 Safeguarding – Essential
  • SEN qualifications demonstrating knowledge and competency with ASD (autism spectrum disorder)
  • Behaviour management training
