SEN Casework Officers


Midlands – 1 day per week or fully remote


3–6 month interim contract


£200–£250 per day Inside IR35

We’re supporting a Local Authority seeking SEN Casework Officers to assist with managing caseloads of children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). This is an interim role focused on maintaining statutory compliance, progressing annual reviews and ensuring high‑quality case management.


The role will involve:



  • Supporting an SEN Casework Officer to manage a locality caseload of children with EHCPs

  • Processing annual reviews and issuing draft, final and amended EHCPs within statutory timescales

  • Liaising with parents/carers, education settings and professionals to progress casework actions

  • Processing travel assistance applications

  • Identifying and coordinating bespoke education packages, including managing referrals/consultations with schools

  • Updating information management systems, spreadsheets and the IDOX EHC Hub (or similar EHCP systems)

  • No requirement to undertake tribunal or mediation work

  • Strong experience in SEN casework and EHCP processes

  • Confident in managing annual reviews and statutory timelines

  • Experience using the IDOX EHC Hub or similar online EHCP management systems

  • Organised, detail‑focused and able to manage a busy caseload

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with families and education providers
