This dynamic secondary school in Lancaster is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our school.
We are a welcoming, inclusive, and student-focused school committed to providing a high-quality education and a positive learning environment. We value the contribution of our Cover Supervisors in maintaining continuity and supporting student learning.
Supervising students in the classroom during the absence of their regular teacher.
Delivering pre-set lessons and ensuring students understand the tasks.
Managing classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive and productive learning environment.
Responding to students' questions and providing support as needed.
Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and behaviour.
Following school policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and behaviour management.
Working collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the school day.
Has experience of working with children or young people in a group setting (e.g., schools, youth clubs, sports coaching).
Is confident, adaptable, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Is able to follow instructions and work independently.
Is reliable, punctual, and committed to the role.
Has a calm and professional manner.
Has a good understanding of safeguarding principles.
A relevant qualification or degree (e.g., L3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable but not essential.
