About the Role

The school is seeking a dedicated and resilient Science Teacher to join a specialised school in Rugby. This is a permanent, full-time position with an immediate start, offering a unique opportunity to work with secondary-aged pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Your core mission is to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons that cater to a wide range of abilities, from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4. You'll be a vital part of a collaborative team, working alongside in-house psychologists, teaching assistants, and therapy professionals to support each student's academic and personal growth. • Encourage and maintain good order and discipline among pupils, ensuring their health and safety.
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of staff, including therapists and support staff, to support pupils' needs.
• Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for public examinations and assessing their progress.
• Act as a faculty coordinator, responsible for the coordination and development of the science curriculum.
• Take a significant share of responsibility in the supervision of pupils during break times.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development programs.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils at all times, in accordance with the school's Child Protection Policy.
