Job Title: Scheduler / Planner
Location: Haydock
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 : 00am – 5 : 00pm (Hybrid – 1 day working from home)

About the Role

We’re working with a well-established and rapidly growing building services and facilities management provider to recruit an experienced and highly organised Scheduler / Planner.

In this key role, you’ll be responsible for optimising schedules for both planned and reactive maintenance work. You’ll allocate tasks based on engineers’ skills and locations to maximise efficiency, minimise travel, and ensure compliance with all statutory and client requirements.

Acting as the main point of contact for field engineers, you’ll develop a strong understanding of their disciplines, maintain excellent communication, and ensure seamless service delivery across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use Job Logic (or similar CAFM systems) to schedule all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) labour in advance and within budget.
  • Check compliance dates with client third-party systems to ensure alignment with internal PPM planners.
  • Organise reactive work efficiently, grouping tasks where possible to reduce travel and maintain service quality.
  • Work closely with the Scheduling Manager to enhance procedures, improve data accuracy, and support both PPM and reactive labour allocation.
  • Liaise with the permits team to ensure all required permits are secured before engineers attend site.
  • Prepare monthly reports on engineer performance, productivity, and recall rates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to progress jobs to completion with full supporting evidence.
  • Identify and suggest opportunities for continuous improvement in scheduling and performance.
  • Participate in client and team meetings as required.
About You
  • Excellent written and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of operational processes and service delivery within a technical or facilities management environment.
  • Confident using CAFM systems and familiar with helpdesk operations.
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrates sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles is an advantage.
