About the Opportunity

Sales Assistant to Senior Partner

David Zwirner seeks a full‑time Sales Assistant to work alongside one of its Partners. The role involves administrative duties and liaison with curators, artists and clients for the Senior Partner.

Superior writing skills, the ability to time‑manage and meet deadlines, and a thorough working knowledge of contemporary art are required. This position involves significant contact with artists and long‑time clients and other art‑industry professionals; discretion and poise are essential. Working days may be Monday‑Friday or Tuesday‑Saturday depending on gallery needs.

What you’ll do
  • Support the Senior Partner with a roster of artists: manage general studio and estate requests, exhibition requests, press and image requests, events, appraisals and artist care.
  • Assist with artist management and gallery exhibitions globally.
  • Provide broad sales support to the Senior Partner: create sales offers, coordinate and prepare client viewings, conduct post‑sale tasks including invoicing and shipping coordination, prepare consignment agreements and insurance appraisals.
  • Administrative support: manage the Senior Partner’s calendar, agendas and to‑do lists, set daily priorities and goals, prepare travel itineraries, appointments and expenses, and liaise with multiple departments on projects such as exhibition and art‑fair booth models, gallery exhibition checklists, online viewing rooms, sales previews and press packets.

  • Experience supporting senior leadership with calendar management and travel itineraries.
  • Detail‑oriented and capable of managing upwards.
  • Strong multi‑tasking skills with the ability to prioritise and anticipate needs; excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross‑departmentally.
  • Strong interest in sales.
  • Passion for and knowledge of contemporary art.
