We are seeking a Safety and Compliance Specialist on all safety matters on behalf of SNG. This role will work with the Building Safety Compliance Mechanical and Electrical Manager to assess any change required across the organisation to deliver building safety compliance big 6 plus aspects aligned with the objectives and vision set out in the Building Safety and Compliance strategy and wider SNG corporate plan.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Responsible for renewables and building safety compliance big6+ areas ensuring that SNG adheres to its regulatory and legislative obligations and that the organisation receives competent advice and guidance.
- Act as a subject matter expert with responsibility of defining data requirements, policies, and standards, whilst advising and overseeing the implementation and adherence.
- Review any request changes against existing system specifications identifying potential overlap and resolving these issues.
- Overall responsibility for the data relating to big 6+ and renewable technology.
- Ensure that data and records relating to renewables and building safety compliance big6+ aspects are collated, validated, accurate and recorded into our centralised systems.
- Lead on the monitoring activities relating to renewables and building safety compliance big6+ in a transparent manner, including identifying, recording, and addressing underperformance and breaches.
- Ensure that actions from safety inspections/testing are progressed, remedied, and recorded as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Evident knowledge and experience of compliance management within the Housing Sector.
- Experience in working in a regulated environment.
- Ability to work to engineering standards such as SFG20.
- Experience in technically advising, specifying, and regulatory requirements for heating and plumbing systems as well as non-core areas.
- Knowledge and understanding of current building regulations.
- Knowledge of methods to monitor the quality of data and identify issues (e.g. reconciliations).
- Experience in protecting and monitoring data against misuse and loss.
- Experience of working to deadlines and achieving targets through own work and work driven through teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Membership of IOSH or other professional body.
