Job description

The Risk Lead post will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for risk management across the organisation, ensuring compliance with national standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Main duties of the job

This post will lead on:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Developing and implement risk strategy/ framework and update policies
  • Provide oversight of compliance against strategy/ framework
  • Produce and present meaningful reports for committees and develop divisional report
  • Provide expert advice to senior teams, including developing a range of training that is accessible to staff groups involved in risk management
  • Provide operational management to the Risk Facilitators

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Educated to Degree Level
  • Recognised Leadership and/or Management qualification or equivalent
  • Evidence of relevant specialist training and development to Masters Level or equivalent.
Experience
  • Governance knowledge and experience of working at a Band 7 or above for a minimum of 2 years
  • A deep understanding of quality assurance and risk management
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Experience of strategic and annual planning processes
  • Experience of managing a budget
  • Experience of service improvement programme and processes
  • Experience of working across organisational boundaries and maintaining credible relationships with partners
  • Previous experience of using the Datix reporting system and ability to support others in its function
  • Experience of Risk Management in NHS
