Job description

An established and reputable law firm based in South West London is seeking a Residential Property Lawyer to join their busy conveyancing department. With a strong pipeline of work and long-standing client relationships, this is an excellent opportunity for a Residential Property Lawyer looking to progress their career within a supportive and professional environment.

This position would suit a Residential Property Lawyer with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience handling a range of conveyancing matters from instruction to completion. The successful Residential Property Lawyer will be confident in managing their own caseload of residential sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity, while providing clear, client-focused legal advice throughout the transaction.

The Residential Property Lawyer’s role

The Residential Property Lawyer will take on a varied caseload of freehold and leasehold transactions, dealing directly with clients, estate agents, lenders, and other solicitors. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing residential sales and purchases from start to finish

  • Advising clients on the legal aspects of property transactions

  • Drafting and reviewing contracts and legal documentation

  • Conducting searches, reporting on title, and raising enquiries

  • Handling remortgages, new builds, and shared ownership matters

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and firm procedures

The Residential Property Lawyer

To be considered for this role, the Residential Property Lawyer should meet the following criteria:

  • At least 2 years’ post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive (CILEx), or Licensed Conveyancer
