A health and safety compliance firm is seeking a Residential Fire Risk Assessor based in Watford. The role involves conducting inspections of various residential properties and writing risk assessment reports to ensure safety compliance. Ideal candidates should have experience in the residential property sector, a driving licence, and relevant NEBOSH certifications. This position offers a work-life balance and attractive benefits, including 27 days holiday and study sponsorship.
At Places for People, safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We are committed to creating safe communities for our customers and colleagues by protecting children, young people, and adults at risk from harm, abuse, and neglect. We follow robust safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring all employees, volunteers, and contractors uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and accountability. Our recruitment process includes pre‑employment checks, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where applicable, to promote a safe and secure working environment. By joining Places for People, you are expected to contribute to our safeguarding culture, following our policies and reporting concerns to protect those in our communities.
Osterna, part of RMG and Places for People Group, is looking for an experienced Residential Fire Risk Assessor to join a proactive and highly successful team of Health & Safety Professionals covering a patch across Watford and surrounding areas. You will be home‑based when not undertaking site visits, completing up to 10 site visits a week (Monday to Friday). Although we are seeking an assessor based in the Watford area, national travel may be required.
What's our USP? With the emphasis on quality over quantity, our Residential Fire Risk Assessors enjoy a work‑life balance rarely seen in this sector. You can choose which days you travel to sites and which days you work from home writing reports. Risk assessment reports are usually confined to the common internal and external areas for residential developments.
Specialising in the residential housing sector, you will carry out inspections of a range of property types, including traditional residential blocks, sheltered housing, HMOs, and high‑rise (over 18 metres) housing. You will write up reports with your findings. Completed risk assessments are used by Property Managers and Directors to initiate repairs or other procedures required to keep residential common areas safe.
Osterna Limited specialises in Health & Safety compliance in the residential property sector. We are Safe Contractor approved and an NSI approved provider of high‑quality, fully compliant BAFESP205 Fire Risk Assessments on properties throughout the UK.
