About the role

A forward-thinking local authority is seeking an Engagement Officer to support the delivery of its Resident Involvement Strategy for council housing residents. You will work directly with tenants, leaseholders and community partners to grow and sustain involvement, strengthen local tenant and resident structures and help turn resident feedback into service improvements.

You will support new and existing Tenant and Resident Associations (TRAs), Block and Street Champions, Sheltered Housing Representatives and a range of involvement forums and service improvement groups. You will help residents get organised, understand governance requirements, and feel confident representing their community. The role combines community-based work, office time and online engagement.

Key responsibilities
  • Support residents to set up and sustain TRAs and other local groups, ensuring they are inclusive, representative and well-governed.
  • Act as a key point of contact for residents who want to get involved or raise ideas for service improvement.
  • Work with Block and Street Champions and Sheltered Housing Representatives to maximise engagement and support council housing communities.
