A prominent academic institution in the UK is seeking a Research Software Engineer Assistant for the SHAREing project. This role involves embedding within a collaborative project team, developing expertise in advanced computing technologies, and leveraging synergies within the academic community. Candidates will have the opportunity to grow their skills over a fixed-term contract with potential for progression.
Durham University’s Advanced Research Computing directorate are recruiting a Research Software Engineer Assistant to work within the Skills Hub for Accelerated Research Environments Inspiring the Next Generation (SHAREing – SHAREing project website). You will be embedded into the SHAREing project team, working closely with the PI and other project members, the platforms team within ARC and realise synergies with related activity within Durham and nationally. The post aims to develop specialist knowledge and expertise across several advanced computing technologies core to the deliverables that are part of the grant and services delivered by ARC longer-term. The post will be embedded on this grant led by P.I. Tobias Weinzierl as Director of Institute of Data Science and academic in Computing Science, and will sit within ARC’s Research Software Engineering function led by Samantha Finnigan.
