Qualifications

Electronic Repair Technician — Godalming, GU7

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electronic Repair Technician to join our dynamic Test Bench team. You will play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and refurbishing electronic and electrical assemblies used in traction and control systems. This is a hands-on role, ideal for candidates with strong soldering experience and a keen eye for quality.

Responsibilities
  • Fault-find, diagnose, and repair electronic/electrical assemblies down to component level.
  • Perform high-standard soldering (including SMT and through-hole) and PCB rework - IPC-610 / IPC-7711/21 compliance is essential.
  • Use test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, light sensors, and diagnostic software.
  • Refurbish and rebuild components in line with quality, safety, and engineering standards.
  • Follow detailed engineering drawings and maintain accurate service records.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience in soldering and PCB rework; IPC-610 / IPC-7711/21 standards preferred or required.
  • Competent in using electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and follow documented repair procedures.
  • Hands-on skills in crimping, torque tightening, and basic mechanical assembly.
  • Minimum Level 3 ONC/NVQ in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
  • A methodical and safety-conscious approach to work.
