A growing (Re)insurer in London is looking for a Reinsurance Technical Accountant to manage monthly management accounts and year-end reporting. The ideal candidate will have qualifications (ACCA/ACA), prior experience in the insurance industry, and excellent Excel skills. This role involves preparing financial data, collaborating with underwriting teams, and supporting financial initiatives.

  • Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of Group monthly management account information.
  • Work with Underwriting data to support technical results.
  • Create data analysis from underwriting systems.
  • Prepare Syndicate Corporate Member management and statutory accounts.
  • Assist in implementation projects and process improvement initiatives.

Job description

HFG are currently partnering with a rapidly growing (Re)insurer to assist them in the search for a new Reinsurance Technical Accountant. The role will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of the monthly management accounts and year-end statutory reporting for the (re)insurance legal entities of the group.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Finance Manager with the preparation of Group monthly management account information for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work proficiently with Underwriting (Cube) data supporting (re)insurance entities' technical results as well as preparation of data for the MGA entities.
  • Create clear and insightful data analysis from underwriting systems (e.g. Navigator policy admin system) and investigate unusual transactions or variances.
  • Prepare Syndicate Corporate Member management and statutory accounts based on financial information from external managing agent.
  • Assist in implementation projects where required which include but are not limited to the General Ledger project, process improvement initiatives surrounding the technical insurance system and other ad hoc systems managed by the Finance department.
