Overview

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse with an interest in Women\'s Health to join our friendly team at the Gynaecology Outpatients Department, Royal Derby Hospital.

We are looking for a qualified nurse with enthusiasm for excellent patient care and a desire to work in women\'s health and make a difference. Previous experience in an outpatients setting is desirable. We pride ourselves in delivering safe, high-quality care to ensure the patient experience is a positive one.

Candidates must have knowledge of outpatient gynaecology including colposcopy, fertility and hysteroscopy; previous gynaecological experience is desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Practice autonomously and be responsible and accountable for safe, compassionate, person-centred, evidence-based nursing that respects dignity and human rights.
  • Assess care needs of patients and plan programmes of care, implement and evaluate these programmes without direct supervision.
  • Occasionally take management responsibility for being in charge of the department and supervising junior staff.
  • Provide holistic, non-judgemental, caring and compassionate care that recognises diversity and individual choice, and supports social inclusion.
  • Work in partnership with other health and social care professionals, students and trainees, service users, carers and families.
  • Contribute to practice development within the clinical care setting and comply with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines; undertake any work-based training related to the role.
  • Liaise closely with the senior team to ensure efficient, effective communication and deliver a high-quality service to patients and relatives.
  • Contribute to the professional development of junior staff and act as a role model to enhance their skills.
  • Work according to the NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour and relevant professional guidelines; be accountable for personal professional actions.
