Job Title: Registered Manager - Children's Homes (Dual Sites)

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £48k - £60k (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to oversee and lead two children's residential homes supporting young people aged 8-18 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a pivotal leadership role, ensuring the delivery of safe, nurturing, and high-quality care while driving positive outcomes for children and young people. You will be responsible for compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards, while creating a culture where young people can feel safe, heal, and thrive.

Applications are welcomed from experienced Registered Managers as well as strong Deputy Managers ready to step into a leadership role, with full support and professional development provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of two children's homes, ensuring compliance with regulations, Ofsted frameworks, and best practice standards.
  • Inspire, support, and develop teams across both sites to deliver consistent, high-quality, child-focused care.
  • Promote a positive culture of openness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide professional supervision and guidance to Deputy Managers and senior staff.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of personalised care plans tailored to the needs of each young person.
  • Foster stable, therapeutic environments that encourage resilience, independence, and positive outcomes.
  • Support effective transition planning, equipping young people with essential life skills.
  • Take overall responsibility for safeguarding and child protection standards across both homes.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, including The Children\'s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
  • Lead preparation for Ofsted inspections, audits, and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with local authorities, schools, health services, and families.
  • Represent the homes at reviews, inspections, and multi-agency meetings, advocating for the best interests of young people.
  • Promote a holistic, joined-up approach to care.
  • Oversee staffing, rotas, budgets, and resources across both sites.
  • Maintain accurate records, risk assessments, and reports in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure staff training and development in safeguarding, trauma-informed, and therapeutic practices.
Essential Criteria
  • Minimum 2 years' leadership experience in children's residential care (multi-site experience desirable).
  • Qualified to Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted inspection frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience supporting young people with complex SEMH needs.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, resources, and services effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred, due to travel between homes)
