About the Home

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced and passionate OFSTED Registered Manager to lead a therapeutic children's residential home for young people aged 11-16 with emotional, behavioural, and social needs. The home operates under a trauma-informed model, placing relationships, safety, and child-centred practice at the heart of everything we do. The Role

As the Registered Manager, you will provide strong leadership, oversee daily operations, and ensure the delivery of a safe, nurturing, and structured environment that promotes emotional wellbeing, education, and long-term development. You will be responsible for quality, compliance, staffing, and the strategic direction of the home.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
  • Provide inspirational, values-driven leadership to the staff team.
  • Create a culture of stability, warmth, and high expectations.
  • Embed trauma-informed and therapeutic practice throughout the home.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Lead the home through inspections, ensuring high-quality documentation and strong evidence of impact.
  • Implement effective quality assurance and continuous improvement systems.
Safeguarding & Care Planning
  • Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the home.
  • Ensure personalised care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans are in place and regularly reviewed.
  • Work collaboratively with local authorities, schools, therapists, and external agencies.
Operational & Staff Management
  • Oversee daily operations including rotas, staffing levels, budgeting, and household management.
  • Recruit, supervise, and professionally develop a skilled team through training, coaching, and reflective practice.
  • Support staff progression, including QCF Level 3 and beyond.
Young People's Development
  • Provide a safe, therapeutic environment that supports identity, emotional regulation, resilience, and independence.
  • Promote education, life skills, positive routines, and meaningful engagement.
  • Champion the voice of each young person in every decision.
Strategic Contribution
  • Contribute to service development, organisational growth and long-term planning.
  • Promote a strong, ethical, child-centred culture within the home.
About You
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience as Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children's residential home.
  • Strong working knowledge of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic models.
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding, regulations, and Ofsted inspection frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead staff, manage performance, and build effective multi-agency relationships.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Diploma for Children & Young People's Workforce (essential).
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services (desired or willingness to work toward).
  • Strong CPD history including safeguarding, behaviour support, and leadership.
