Helix Medical Centre is seeking a proactive and compassionate Reception & Patient Support Supervisor to lead front‑of‑house and administrative teams, ensuring exceptional patient service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating staff rotas and managing day‑to‑day team operations
- Supporting staff development, appraisals and training
- Providing direct support and guidance to patients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and compassionately
- Maintaining composure and effectiveness in a high‑pressure environment, demonstrating resilience and robustness in challenging situations
- Assisting the Practice Manager and Operations Manager to achieve strategic goals
- Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and NHS regulations
- Making day‑to‑day operational decisions within the area of responsibility and supporting service delivery across the practice
- Acting as a point of contact for staff, attending meetings, providing emergency cover and promoting Equality, Diversity & Inclusion efforts
Experience
- Experience working with the general public and in a GP surgery / healthcare setting
- Strong leadership & team management skills
- Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development & disciplinary procedures
- Relevant health & safety experience and patient liaison / complaint handling
- Understanding of safeguarding & equality legislation
- Knowledge of NHS policies & procedures, CQC regulations and NHS Primary Care practice
- Experience of successfully developing & implementing projects and rota planning
Qualifications
- Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Education to A‑level/equivalent or higher is desirable
- Leadership &/or management qualification (desirable)
- AMSPAR qualification (desirable)
Other Requirements
- Ability to work flexibly to cover surgery hours, including extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays as per rota
- Flexibility to work outside core office hours
- Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check required
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Full UK driving licence (desirable)

Working Hours & Pay
37.5 hours per week:
- Monday, Thursday, Friday: 8am – 6:30pm
- Tuesday: 9:30am – 8pm
- £13.50 per hour
Annual Leave
5.6 weeks inclusive of bank holidays. Entitlements are pro‑rated for part‑time employees.
