Job description

Our Graduate Real Estate Pathway is the perfect place for aspiring Land Managers, Development Managers & Planning Managers, or anyone with a natural interest in land acquisition, planning policies or project management. This pathway is tailored to expose you to key areas of the business that will develop you into a strong all‑rounder within the Real Estate field. This pathway includes rotations within the business areas below, all constructed with key learning objectives in mind to equip you with all of the knowledge you need: Land & Partnerships, Technical, Commercial, Development, Regional Finance, Construction, Development & Land. In our Brentwood office from September 2026, as part of our Strategic Land and Major Projects team, you will rotate through all these areas across your 18 months programme, starting and finishing within the Land & Partnerships or Development department. During your final rotation, transition talks are held with the possible opportunity to transition into the Land, Partnerships or Development teams once all rotations have been completed. The Strategic Land team operates nationally to secure land and planning consent for residential schemes ranging from 200 to 3,000+ new homes, providing Vistry's business units with a supply of consented units. The Major Projects delivery team is renowned for delivering and facilitating high‑quality new community, employment, retail and leisure facilities as part of our strategic developments. These facilities have included new schools, neighbourhood centres with local retail and health services, community buildings, hotels and business parks alongside extensive sports facilities, country parks and open spaces. Each scheme is supported by significant infrastructure including relief roads, new bridges and a railway station.

Responsibilities
  • Follow the Real Estate Pathway, completing all rotations to the best of your ability and meeting the targets set to you by each rotational supervisor.
  • Take all learning opportunities that are presented to you through the programme, seeking ways to further develop and challenge yourself.
  • Integrate yourself into each team that you work with along your pathway, supporting each team to achieve their goals and establishing meaningful, long‑lasting professional relationships.
  • Absorb the knowledge, expertise and advice given to you throughout your rotations by our talented teams, ask questions and probe to develop your understanding.
  • Contribute to continuous development within Vistry Group by being proactively involved in key business initiatives, projects and launches. Offer ideas and suggestions where opportunities are identified.
  • Be an active member of the Vistry Group Graduate community, supporting your peers, taking part in (and occasionally hosting) quarterly Graduate meetings, attending masterclasses and professional development opportunities.
  • Act as an advocate for careers in Construction, effectively representing Vistry Future Talent at career events, fairs and other engagement opportunities.
  • Act as a buddy to future new graduates joining the community, ensuring that they are positively supported through their learning journey.
  • Commit to completing further study, qualifications and accreditations as appropriate, should you wish to undertake further professional development.
  • Positively engage with your leaders and support system throughout the programme, regularly meeting to discuss your progress, identify areas for further focus and development and seek advice.
  • Behave in line with our company values – Integrity, Caring and Quality. We build more than homes, we are making Vistry. Being a responsible developer and an award‑winning employer means we live each day through our ethos – doing the right thing. Our behaviours reflect this, as well as our values of integrity, caring and quality, shaping all we do and empowering us to develop sustainable communities across affordable and private housing. We work in a partnership‑led way, and you’ll recognise our renowned brands Bovis Homes, Linden Homes and Countryside Homes.
