Job description

At Komplex Care, we specialise in providing tailored, nurse‑led complex care for individuals who need ongoing support to live independently in their own homes. Our clients rely on dedicated, professional care staff to ensure their safety, assist with clinical interventions as per their care plans, and help them engage with their local communities. As a Rapid Response Care Assistant, you will be at the forefront of supporting individuals during crucial transitions, such as hospital discharges, crisis management, and care package adjustments. This role demands quick thinking, flexibility, and a compassionate approach as you provide exceptional care to individuals with a wide range of complex needs. These can include, but are not limited to, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, locked‑in syndrome, rehabilitation, and motor neurone disease. In addition to delivering high‑quality clinical care, your duties may also involve assisting clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, and toileting, as well as helping with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide responsive care during hospital discharges, emergencies, and care package breakdowns.
  • Ensure that clinical skills are kept current, staying up to date with training and developments in care practices.
  • Deliver personalised care to clients with complex needs, including spinal cord injury, brain injury, motor neurone disease, and more.
  • Assist with personal care tasks (washing, dressing, eating, toileting) and provide safe lifting, transferring, and repositioning support.
  • Maintain a calm and professional approach in challenging or high‑pressure situations.
Qualifications
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel nationally up to 150 miles and occasional overnight stays, fully reimbursed).
  • Previous experience in a care environment or a similar role.
  • Resilience to stay calm and professional during challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., CQC standards, health and safety).
  • Experience in supporting clients with complex needs.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Enhanced DBS check required: A full and satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check is a condition of employment.
Employment Offer Conditions
  • All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory onboarding checks, including DBS, references, availability, and induction.
  • Your availability must remain consistent throughout your employment; any changes should be communicated in writing to your line manager.
  • Probationary Period: 6 months, during which regular reviews and 1:1 meetings will be held by your manager.
  • Komplex Care Limited, clients' homes, with travel required to other locations at the discretion of the company, and with prior notice.
  • Training: 6‑day paid induction course at your local office (paid at minimum wage). Additional eLearning modules, also paid at minimum wage. Mileage will be reimbursed at £0.28 per mile from the first mile, and travel ticket expenses are also covered.
  • Shifts & Flexibility: Rotational shifts covering days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays to ensure full coverage. Flexibility in working hours may be required based on client needs and staffing arrangements.
  • Annual Leave: You are entitled to annual leave which accrues over time. Please note, leave cannot be taken during the two‑week Christmas period. Bank holidays, Christmas, and New Year will be worked on a rota based basis to ensure fairness across the team.
