Job description
Overview

Radiology Support Services Lead - temporary maternity cover up to 12 months. Lead the large admin team, work with the Radiology management team to improve efficiency and patient experience within Radiology. Manage administration and clerical staff across Radiology departments including medical secretaries, main admin office, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and community sites. Requires excellent communication, organisational skills and prior leadership/people management experience.

You will standardise administration processes across all radiology sites to ensure high standards of patient care and customer experience related to appointment booking, attendance and reporting.

You will collaborate with the Radiology Services Manager and information team to monitor service demands, delivery, trends and challenges, and drive change with new technologies.

The department comprises general x-ray rooms, A+E, CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, Interventional suite, maxillo-facial unit and mammography. This is a temporary term position to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months.

Key responsibilities
  • Be a proactive member of the Radiology Management Team responsible for implementing new administrative processes and technology.
  • Contribute to performance management, review and improvement initiatives within radiology.
  • Manage the administration and secretarial teams across all radiology areas and modalities at Royal Surrey County Hospital and associated community sites.
  • Ensure the team provides a high standard of patient care and customer experience during all attendance across radiology sites.
  • Manage all aspects of the patient journey, including appointment booking, attendance and receiving of reports.
  • Standardise administrative processes for cancellations, non-attendance and rescheduling across all radiology sites.
  • Proactively monitor, audit and review non-attendance to improve service delivery and maximise utilisation of appointment slots.
Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to NVQ level 5 or equivalent experience in office management
  • Administrative and clerical experience
  • Experience in a leadership role

  • Experience with IT systems
