Overview

We are looking for a dynamic Radio Station Manager to lead the operations and steer the creative direction of a new community radio station, serving and reflecting the voices of the University of Westminster.

We are seeking an experienced radio professional with a strong track record in live broadcasting, programming, and community engagement. You will be confident with the technical aspects of running a radio station as you are with curating engaging content, scheduling shows, and supporting presenters and volunteers. You will oversee day-to-day station management, develop new programming ideas, ensure compliance with broadcasting regulations, and nurture relationships with volunteers, community groups, and listeners.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day station management and operations.
  • Develop new programming ideas and curate engaging content.
  • Schedule shows and support presenters and volunteers.
  • Ensure compliance with broadcasting regulations.
  • Nurture relationships with volunteers, community groups, and listeners.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience in the radio or wider media industry.
  • Ability to share knowledge to help develop the skills and confidence of volunteer presenters.
  • Experience within an educational setting, use of studio and outside broadcast equipment, and editing software such as Adobe Audition.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and playout software such as GSelector and Zetta would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills, commitment to inclusivity, and ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.

Salary and hours: This post is part-time, 28 hours per week and fixed term until August 2027. The salary stated above is the pro-rata amount; the full-time salary would be £41,086 - £46,542 Per Annum (Incl. LWA).
