Overview

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor (PQS)

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £45,000-£60,000 (salary range reflective of experience) + bonuses (paid twice a year) + additional benefits including flexible working hours.

Excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor (PQS)/Cost Consultant to work on multimillion-pound award-winning developments across sectors including Grade A commercial office, high-rise residential, hotel and leisure, and life sciences. The multidisciplinary consultancy has grown its cost consultancy service and expanded into project management and building surveying. The Birmingham office is well established, with the majority of the team MRICS qualified, enabling support throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Participate in business development; prepare for client pitches and fee proposals.
• Be involved throughout the project life cycle, supporting colleagues from briefing through to reporting.
• Advise clients on procurement, design phases, risks, and mitigation.
• Create programmes of work and manage them through to delivery.
• Lead delivery to ensure projects are delivered to brief, on time and within budget.
• Contract Administration – predominantly JCT contracts.
• Support the development of the projects team, acting as a coach and mentor.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience in cost consultancy and large-scale development projects.
• Private/commercial sector exposure; experience outside of a corporate environment is desirable.
• MRICS qualification is common within the Birmingham team; throughout the firm, MRICS or equivalent professional recognition is valued.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills; ability to contribute to bids and fee proposals.
