Job summary

A successful design and manufacturing business in West Yorkshire seeks a Quality Manager to oversee quality standards and manage technical specifications for various products. The role involves collaboration with production teams, suppliers, and customers. This position offers flexible remote work options and requires working 28 hours a week.

Qualifications

  • Experience in collecting, collating, and inputting technical specifications.
  • Understanding of retailer’s technical systems is a bonus.
  • Experience in the relevant product areas preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Production Team.
  • Liaise with offshore suppliers for quality standards.
  • Manage internal QC checks and suppliers’ pre-shipment inspections.
  • Provide technical information to customer technical staff.
  • Manage customer technical projects and deadlines.
  • Ensure technical administration is updated on in-house systems.
  • Establish quality requirements from suppliers.
  • Review product safety and arrange 3rd party testing.
  • Collate packaging data for Company Packaging Data return.

Job description

Our Client is a successful business that designs and manufactures a variety of own label and branded gift wrap, stationery, ceramics, and gifts to major retail chains.

To help the Operations team manage the ever-increasing workload they have a requirement for a Quality Manager working 4 days a week, 28 hours, ideally based in the office in West Yorkshire.

The role will require the collecting, collating and inputting of technical specifications on paper based and gift products for many of the UK’s biggest retailers. Experience in the relevant product areas and an understanding of the retailer’s technical systems would be a bonus

Responsibilities will include :
  • Working closely daily with the Production Team
  • To regularly liaise with our offshore suppliers to ensure manufacturing or production processes meet required quality standards
  • To manage both internal QC warehouse checks / raised nonconformities and also suppliers’ pre-shipment inspections
  • To liaise with customer technical staff to provide technical information as required
  • To manage customer additional technical projects and work to these deadlines
  • To support the Production Team to ensure that all technical administration is kept up to date and stored correctly on inhouse systems
  • To work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from suppliers
  • To review product safety and arrange 3rd party testing as required
  • To collate packaging data for the Company Packaging Data return
Skills and experience :
  • Highly organised with a methodical and focused work attitude and great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to work to deadlines as part of a team and as an individual
  • Relevant experience with retailer’s technical systems
  • Knowledge or experience of the retail and manufacturing sectors would be advantageous.
