Overview

Quality Inspector - Manufacturing

Location: Golborne (WA3). Shift Basis (12 Hours Rotating Shifts - Including Days & Nights). Starting from £29,000 (DOE) + Excellent Benefits & Career Progression Opportunities.

At our Golborne site (5 mins from the J22 or J23 M6) based on the East Lancs Road, we employ over 270 colleagues who produce a number of packaging solutions on a 24/7 basis for major international customers.

Responsibilities
  • Attend shift handover meetings communicating the current situation and status of open non-conformances (fault notes & isolations) in which they have been involved during the shift.
  • Conduct CCP verification checks.
  • Supply and verify the correct defect test pieces to production lines and ensure they are collected back at the end of a production run.
  • Confirm the appropriate specifications and documentation is in place and being completed correctly.
  • Accurately record data in the electronic quality databases system (CAQ) and escalate failings to Management for investigation before the end of the shift.
  • Conduct laboratory based analytical testing, as required to support material or colour changes during evenings.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with Health and Safety, quality and food safety practices as directed by management.
  • Ensure that laboratory and Quality station housekeeping is of the highest standard at all times.
  • Perform any other duties in connection with the job that may be reasonably required and consistent with the main purpose of the job.
Experience Required
  • Previous role within a Quality / Compliance / Testing position within a manufacturing environment – ideally with experience of laboratory based analytical testing.
  • Highly analytical and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Organised and able to communicate results effectively.
  • Awareness and knowledge of food safety policies.
