QA Engineer
Senior Quality Assurance Engineering 1

The Global Betting Platform (gbp) is Flutter's flagship proprietary platform powering sports betting features at scale. It supports multiple brands across the group, generates 33% of total Sportsbook online revenue, and serves over 1.7 million active users.

The Role:

We are looking for a passionate Backend QA Engineer who will bring new ideas, energy, and a proactive mindset to help raise the bar for QA, both within the team and across the wider group. You will join a high-performing team of 5 Developers and 1 QA (this role). You\'ll help shape the evolution of gbp into a world-class platform, ensuring quality and stability across our fast-paced, multi-brand environment. You\'ll work closely with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders across multiple locations to deliver reliable, high-quality backend services.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute both manual and automated tests
  • Ensure product requirements are testable and validated
  • Provide insights into product quality and improvements to QA processes
  • Support and collaborate with developers on quality-focused practices
  • Contribute across the full development lifecycle
  • Offer creative and pragmatic solutions to testing challenges
What We're Looking For

Technical Skills:

  • Proven QA experience in complex backend systems
  • Strong automation and manual testing expertise
  • Solid understanding of service-oriented architectures and APIs (REST)
  • Experience with Java or similar languages
  • Familiarity with test-driven development (e.g. BDD, ATDD)
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience with build/config tools (e.g. CHEF) is a plus
