Qualifications

Purchasing Officer

This is a superb opportunity for Purchasing Officer to join the business through this rapid period of growth. The business is looking for a driven and motivated Purchasing Officer to support the team through these exciting times.

The Role
  • Be an ambassador for the new Procurement function
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders
  • Drive high performance of the entire Supply Chain
  • Process Purchase requests and place Purchase Orders with Suppliers
  • Ensure all procurement activities are conducted in accordance with established procedures, local laws and regulations and direction from Senior Management
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers regarding purchase order commitments and drive OTIF
  • Obtain quotations from existing and new potential new suppliers
  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding some commercial conditions
  • Transform purchase requests to purchase orders to an agreed service level
  • Confirm purchase orders with suppliers
  • Communicate any difficulties or delays back to the business through agreed channels
  • Maintain master data on system(s) and in other locations
  • Create new part numbers
  • Analyse and resolve invoice queries with suppliers
The Person
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in similar position
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Procurement or Supply/Chain related qualification such as CIPS would be advantageous
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word etc
  • Experience with any major ERP system is desirable
  • Able to work autonomously on processes with agreed service levels
  • Service and solution orientated
  • Basic analytical skills
