At the London Borough of Merton, we are looking for a skilled Public Health Intelligence Specialist to join our Public Health Team. Youll lead analytical projects, manage health intelligence systems, and present findings that influence strategic decisions. The post holder will be employed by the London Borough of Merton as part of the Merton Public Health Team. The post holder will support the Public Health Information and Children Lifelong Learning Families function, assisting in the development and management of public health information to reflect local, regional, and national priorities. Specific projects include analysis and reporting on datasets focusing primarily on children and young people and providing information that enables a full understanding of health needs, addressing health inequalities, determining priorities for action, and disseminating findings from a wide range of analysis.
Main duties include ensuring high-quality and complex information from diverse sources is appropriately analysed and interpreted for operational and strategic decision-making; providing statistical and epidemiological advice; using ArcGIS and infographics to display analysis; supporting long-term service plans and research projects; developing staff in statistics and epidemiology; presenting complex information to varied audiences; quality assuring data and presentations; and assisting in horizon scanning for new data opportunities.
