PRU Teacher - East London

Role: PRU Teacher – Science & Mathematics, Key Stage 2/3

Location: East London

Contract: Permanent role with opportunities for progression

Start: November start (or earlier)

Join a new role in a successful, purpose-built PRU secondary school in East London. The Head is looking to appoint a Maths & Science Teacher to take Key Stage 2/3 classes.

This PRU Teacher role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference to the lives of students who are unable to remain in mainstream education. If you would like to make education accessible to young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Teach small classes (6-8 pupils) with support from specialist teaching assistants.
  • Deliver Maths and Science across Key Stage 2/3.
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills and a motivational approach to raise standards, improve behaviour, and boost attainment.
  • Work in a PRU that specialises in pupils excluded from mainstream education.
  • Support students either temporarily or permanently excluded from mainstream settings.
Qualifications
  • Secondary-trained PRU Teacher.
  • Experience in a Pupil Referral Unit or with students displaying challenging behaviour.
