Job summary

A well-established engineering consultancy in Cheltenham is seeking a Proposal Manager to oversee the proposal generation process for complex tenders. You will manage schedules, coordinate stakeholders, and ensure the creation of clear documentation. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in formal tendering processes, possess a valid UK driving license, and be open to occasional travel. This permanent role provides a hybrid working environment with a competitive salary range.

  • Generate proposals as required by the RFP, setting schedules and responsibilities.

  • Coordinate the collection of cost, scheduling, and performance elements.
  • Develop and manage internal stakeholder processes for submissions.

Overview

Proposal Manager

Salary: £55,000-£65,000

Location: Cheltenham (Hybrid)

Join this well-established engineering consultancy delivering advanced solutions across various defence platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Generate proposals, outlining the proposal structure as required by the Request for Proposal (RFP), setting the schedule and allocation of responsibilities to the relevant subject matter expert
  • Monitor progress and content, provide clear and concise proposal status reports to all relevant internal stakeholders on a regular and suitable periodic basis
  • Coordinate the collection and accumulation of cost, scheduling, and performance elements from all relevant functional departments
  • Develop and own the internal stakeholder management process for each submission
Qualifications
  • Experience of operating within the constraints of formal tendering processes, using procurement portals such as Award and Bravo solution, government work is desirable
  • Clear demonstrable experience in product, service and complex bid documentation
  • Experienced in the creation and delivery of clear and concise progress reporting at all levels within the business
  • Relevant experience in people management and leadership (both line management and multi-disciplinary team leadership)
  • Valid UK driving license with a willingness to travel occasionally
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required

Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore these vacancies are only open to British Nationals. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
