About the role

Boots Opticians has just had its 4th record breaking year. Our Property team are delivering more new stores and store interventions that ever and our team is expanding.

Key responsibilities
  • This role is dedicated to Boots Opticians Property team, field based covering the UK, you will report to the Head of Property.
  • You will plan the Property, portfolio and maintenance strategy to the business. It will lead the implementation of the Retail Property investment strategy for all 550 Boots Opticians stores including the Franchise estate. We deliver 200 annual property change schemes, and you will be accountable for the project management, planning, design, contracting and delivery of schemes on time and on budget.
  • The role will have an important role in the creation of our new store environment, design and customer experience and help develop our new formats.
  • Guide improved return on investment and value by refit acceleration and retail engagement programmes. Enact the strategy including new practice openings, refits, relocations.
  • Project manage cross functional support office teams to deliver key retail property interventions to time and on cost. Key stakeholder influence and engagement with Boots UK property and BOPS commercial senior team. Alongside this you will work with Boots UK development team with new initiatives, along with third party design agencies.
  • Requirement to work closely with the Core and Franchise estate, with senior roles within each business function in Boots Opticians and leverages the partnership with Boots UK & Hearing care.
What you'll need to have
  • Experience in senior retail or property leadership roles across a geography.
  • Exposure to Franchise and Company owned business models
  • Capable to design future store models and make them a reality. Create the vision, turn it into reality and take stakeholders with them
  • An inspirational leader with the ability to build, lead and inspire a team to exceed our business ambitions
  • Commercially astute; Significant financial understanding of Finance, P&L, ROI and investment
  • Ability to critically analyse issues and provide solutions at pace and challenge the business where required.
  • Experienced property professional who can bring a sharp focus to deliver the in year and 5 year future plans without line management
  • Self starter, balancing autonomy with being highly accountable and resilient
  • Build strong internal and external relationships with influence and impact.
  • Must have a Driving Licence
It would be great if you also have
  • Experience of both leading and managing transformational change across cross functional teams and can translate strategy into actions and results.
