Life on the team

An opportunity has arisen for a Project manager to join our Smart Infrastructure team at Computacenter on a permanent basis. You will deliver structured cabling and related technology projects onsite at Heathrow Airport.

You will successfully plan and control day to day activities in customer projects and ‘minor works’ they are delivered time and budget to the required quality. You will respond to customer scope and survey requests to enable accurate quotations to be submitted to customer.

What you’ll do

• Deliver site-based projects activities, to agreed cost targets in accordance with company objectives and standards, whilst ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction
• Ensure that works are completed to the customers satisfaction and installation standards
• Support the onsite Project Management team in maximising the revenue from contracts through scope growth and variation orders
• Ensure that the projects are delivered in accordance with company and customer processes, procedures, and statutory obligations.
• Ensure provision of timely resource and cost prediction, working closely with resource
• Generate required Risk Assessments and Method Statements to the required standards
• Submission and co-ordination of required permits to enable works can be delivered within the required timeframes
• Ensure provision of professional project planning throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure provision of timely and accurate internal and customer project reporting.
• Request and order required materials for each project within a timely manner
• Operate at all times with regard to the Health & Safety of employees and third parties, ensuring consistency with company and statutory obligations.
• Participate in any training that the company required to achieve accreditations and qualifications that are deemed essential for fulfilment of duties.

What you’ll need

• Supervisory experience in the structured cabling industry.
• Experience in project management controls, including initiation, change management, risk management, Project plans and the principles and practicalities of running projects.
• In depth knowledge of structured an optical cabling system
• Ability to work within demanding time constraints.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
• Proven experience of Microsoft applications.
• Excellent technical understanding of structured cabling design and technologies.
• You will need to be articulate, a self-starter, have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and able to demonstrate experience in pragmatically solving problems.
• Knowledge required to manage a safe construction site, SMSTS qualification or equivalent.
• Valid ECS health & safety card.
• Airport or similar industry experience would be beneficial.
• 5year referencing required for Airside pass
• Full driving licence
