Overview

Location: Guildford | Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 + Package | Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

CBW has been engaged to recruit an experienced Project Manager within the smoke control sector. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing contractor and take full ownership of two high-value projects (each £1m+), managing them from inception through to completion.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage smoke control projects (£1m+) from planning through to handover.
  • Coordinate with design, site, and commercial teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Chair project meetings, track progress, and provide regular reporting.
  • Manage budgets, variations, and cost control to ensure profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, promoting a collaborative culture.
Requirements
  • Proven track record in managing smoke control or building services projects, ideally £1m+.
  • Strong technical knowledge of smoke ventilation (natural & mechanical systems).
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Commercially astute, with experience in budget and cost management.
  • Highly organised, detail-driven, and proactive problem solver.
  • Must be UK-based with the right to work in the UK.
