Job description
Overview

As Project Manager, you'll report directly to the Project Director and collaborate closely with two fellow Project Managers to share overall build responsibilities. Your focus will be on delivering the concrete foundation, temporary utilities, and drainage packages, ensuring seamless execution from planning through to handover. This is a hands‑on position where you'll drive progress, manage subcontractors, and uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Location & Commitment

The project demands long‑term commitment, with work based in the South West Region. Candidates must be flexible, willing to work away from home for extended periods and provide their own accommodation. We seek individuals open to site‑based delivery, offering stability and progression on a prestigious scheme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of concrete foundations, temporary utilities and drainage works, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to meet project milestones.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, mitigating risks and resolving issues proactively.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships, including with the Project Director and on‑site teams.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the flagship scheme, sharing build accountability in a collaborative setting.
Availability & Engagement

This role requires immediate or near‑term availability to maintain momentum on the scheme. We accept permanent salaried positions and freelance contractors. The project timeline is aggressive; therefore, flexibility is key. Candidates must be prepared for a long‑term assignment in the South West, potentially away from their home base. Start date is flexible but targeted for early 2026.

Required Experience & Skills
  • Extensive experience managing similar packages on infrastructure or civil projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, including concrete pouring, utility setups and drainage engineering.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously while collaborating in a team of peers.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, focused on delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, SMSTS/CSCS certification.
Preferred Background

We look for experienced Project Managers with a proven track record in civil engineering or construction projects, ideally from Tier 2 contractors such as Churngold, Stephensons, or Alun Griffiths.
