Qualifications

• 3+ years in estimating or commercial surveying, ideally within construction or fire safety.
• Understanding of building structures including slabs, walls, doors, ceilings, voids, and M&E services.
• Familiarity with cloud-based estimating software is desirable.

Overview

Estimator

Location: Close to Basildon, Essex

Full-time | Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: £30,000 – £50,000 per year + benefits

Are you an experienced Estimator looking to join a fast-growing company.

We’re seeking a motivated individual to join our clients growing team and help price and manage a wide range of fire protection projects.

About the Role

As an Estimator, you’ll play a key role in pricing tenders and direct enquiries. Projects range up to £1 million in value.

Responsibilities

• Preparing competitive pricing and programmes based on materials and labour requirements.
• Conducting site visits and client meetings to finalise project details.
• Running survey reports using software like Bolster or OneTrace.
• Producing defect schedules, Bills of Quantities, take-offs, and marked-up drawings.
• Compiling pricing clarifications and tender breakdowns for client discussions.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3+ years in estimating or commercial surveying, ideally within construction or fire safety.
• Knowledge: Understanding of building structures including slabs, walls, doors, ceilings, voids, and M&E services.
• Tech Skills: Familiarity with cloud-based estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bolster) is desirable.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, numerical, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 in passive fire protection is a plus, but training will be provided.
