Overview of position:

  • As our newly appointed Project Engineer position you will be based out of our Rutland office, and will be responsible for all aspects of assigned jobs to assure high quality products are delivered on time, within the assigned budget and satisfying the customer requirements. Duties include coordinating with the various internal and external disciplines, develop and maintain the procurement and manufacturing schedule, technical and commercial bid evaluations process with sub vendors, monitoring the assigned budget and handling technical and commercial correspondence as required. You will over time require knowledge of all Zeeco products, with a focus on the Flares division products and relevant technical requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Validate Orders & Scope
  • Review purchase orders to confirm scope of supply aligns with customer specifications and sales quotations.
  • Confirm Equipment & Design
  • Verify equipment selection and design. Perform or coordinate across disciplines to ensure compliance and functionality.
  • Manage Drafting Activities
  • Coordinate drafting to ensure timely completion of all required drawings. Review customer mark-ups, clarify comments, and direct revisions.
  • Control Budget & Scope Changes
  • Ensure project costs remain within budget. Manage scope changes with customers and suppliers, maintaining alignment and accountability.
  • Maintain Delivery Schedule
  • Drive schedule adherence based on customer requirements and internal workloads. Coordinate drafting, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality control. Pre-order materials as needed to meet delivery targets.
  • Coordinate Quality Requirements
  • Interface with the Quality Control Department to ensure all deliverables meet customer and job-specific specifications.
  • Oversee Technical & Commercial Communication
  • Manage all job-related correspondence. Provide written advisories and resolve commercial issues related to scope changes.
  • Trigger Billing Events
  • Notify Accounting when billing milestones are reached.
  • Support Cross-Functional Needs
  • Assist Sales and Applications Engineering. Participate in site visits, (overseas trips), and design activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree/Masters in Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical)
  • Solid related experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Business acumen and commercial sound decision making are necessary to success in the role
  • A passion for Engineering and Business
  • Knowledge of engineering measurements such as pressure and thermal radiation essential.
  • Must live within commutable distance (maximum 60 minutes drive) from our Rutland office PE9 7QT, have a full UK drivers licence, and UK passport.
