The Role

We are seeking a Project Director with a Mechanical bias to lead the delivery of a large-scale Shell & Core project with multiple floors of fit-out in Central London. This is a pivotal leadership role with full accountability for operational, commercial, and client outcomes, reporting directly to the UK Regional Director.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of a major M&E project, ensuring quality, safety, and profitability.
  • Manage all stakeholders including clients, consultants, and main contractors, building strong relationships to secure repeat business.
  • Oversee design development, procurement strategy, and project planning from pre-construction to commissioning.
  • Implement and maintain robust risk management and change control processes.
  • Ensure accurate cost control, financial reporting, and adherence to KPI-driven project targets.
  • Drive performance and engagement across your project team, providing leadership, mentoring, and development.
  • Uphold Designer Group standards across health & safety, quality assurance, and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering and process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in a senior leadership role delivering large-scale M&E projects (preferably Shell & Core).
  • Strong mechanical bias, with deep understanding of building services engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in budget control, procurement, and contract management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Degree or HNC equivalent).
