Overview

Associate / Senior Associate - Professional Indemnity (Leeds or Manchester)

BCL Legal is working with a leading international law firm in their search for an Associate or Senior Associate to join their Professional Indemnity team. This opportunity offers a balance of high-quality, intellectually challenging work with genuine flexibility and career progression.

Responsibilities
  • Join a highly regarded Professional and Commercial Risk practice, acting for major insurers and insured professionals across the supply chain.
  • Handle a varied and stimulating workload covering the full spectrum of insurance litigation and advisory matters, including:
  • A caseload of professional negligence claims spanning a wide range of professionals.
  • Advising insurers on coverage, recovery, and strategic issues.
  • Conducting both pre-action and litigated matters, including mediation and other forms of ADR.
  • Direct engagement with clients, experts, and counsel.
  • Support partners on high-value matters while taking responsibility for your own caseload.
  • Supervise and mentor more junior lawyers where appropriate.
Qualifications
  • We are keen to speak with solicitors with around 3+ years' PQE (though all levels will be considered on merit).
  • Solid professional indemnity and insurance litigation experience.
  • Strong client-handling and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence in managing a caseload with appropriate levels of partner support.
  • A collaborative and collegiate approach, with the ability to support and develop junior team members.
  • A proactive, adaptable outlook with enthusiasm for contributing to the growth of the team.
