Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Lead to oversee a small workshop team. This role is central to ensuring our furniture is crafted to the highest standards, delivered on schedule, and produced with efficiency. The right candidate will combine strong craftsmanship knowledge with excellent team leadership and organisational abilities, supported by digital production tools such as Katana.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Management
• Lead, motivate, and support a small team of production staff.
• Provide regular performance feedback.
• Foster a positive, collaborative workshop culture.
• Production Planning & Workflow
• Oversee daily and weekly production schedules.
• Allocate resources effectively across projects.
• Coordinate with design and sales teams to meet client deadlines.
• Use Katana to manage production planning, inventory, and resource scheduling to ensure full visibility across the workshop.
• Quality Assurance
• Maintain rigorous standards of craftsmanship, materials, and finishes.
• Implement quality control checkpoints throughout production.
• Ensure each piece reflects the company’s design values.
• Health, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to all workshop health & safety protocols.
• Identify and implement efficiencies in processes and materials.
• Track production KPIs such as timelines, waste reduction, and output.

Skills & Experience

• A background in furniture assembly.
• Previous experience leading or supervising a small team.
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of materials, joinery techniques, and finishing methods.
• Experience using production management systems (preferably Katana) for scheduling, inventory, and order tracking.
