Overview: Product Marketing Manager role focusing on developing and leading a product category vision and planning, championing best-in-class category management against pre-agreed objectives that support the company direction. Ownership of product management and marketing for consumer business categories, including identifying opportunities, launching plans, product positioning, engagement content, and analysis of competitor and category performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop data- and insight-led 1-, 3- and 5-year category strategy plans aligned with wider business objectives; measure and report performance to senior management in the UK and internationally.
  • Create comprehensive launch plans for all new product launches in the UK; lead cross-departmental teams to ensure successful market entry.
  • Develop product and price positioning, lead statements, key selling points (KSPs), features and benefits, and points of difference for existing and new products.
  • Support Product Management Coordination by tracking and analysing sales performance using data such as Sales-in, EPOS, GFK, ATV and margin; make product, promotion and marketing recommendations.
  • Carry out annual category reviews and present updated strategy and plans to key internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Online and Retail sales teams to understand market and retailer opportunities and challenges; proactively provide recommendations based on research and analysis.
  • Manage the creation of all copy and content for consumer categories and products; liaise with Marketing to ensure assets support channels and overall product strategy.
  • Document and present findings from extensive competitor research; support the wider Product and Marketing teams with desktop, field and product test analyses; report findings to the wider business and internationally.
  • Oversee and manage all product information creation and data entry for owned categories; assist colleagues in other departments as required.
  • Act as a product and category champion, delivering presentations, training and insights to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Liaise with Head Office colleagues (especially Product Management) to influence wider company decisions and provide relevant feedback.
  • Work closely with logistics and stock control to manage shipping, stock and forecast requirements in line with category plans.
  • Attend retailer and internal meetings to influence and support category performance objectives.

Skills / Experience required:

  • Product and marketing experience within a fast-moving business.

  • Confident and strong communicator.

  • Methodical and adaptable character.
  • Driving licence essential (attending events, when required).
